Our Mission

develop a sustainable environment for our Raymond Island koalas and other wildlife

maintain the natural environment for our residents

improve amenities and experiences for our visitors

educate and inform people about our wildlife

Who are we?

A group of active Raymond Island residents who have joined with the Paynesville Business and Tourism Association to form the Koala Island Foundation. It is the platform for us to deliver the outcomes needed for Raymond Island koalas and residents. We work with Landcare, the Koalas of Raymond Island shelter (KORI), conservationists, and tourism operators.

Raymond Island (Gunai/Kurnai language: Bunjil-baul) is a small island in the Gippsland Lakes in eastern Victoria, Australia, about 300 km (190 mi) from Melbourne.
